About

Sarah Kay Bierle works in the public history field, focusing on education
and battlefield preservation. A graduate from Thomas Edison State University
with a B.A. in History, she has spent years researching, writing, and speaking
about the American Civil War, helping audiences gain a stronger appreciation
for the accounts of real people caught in the struggles of the past. She has
written essays and seven books, including her two newest, Glorious Courage and Decisions at Chancellorsville.

Currently, Sarah continues to research and hike battlefields, often studying
military and civilian interactions or pausing to continue documenting lesser
known accounts in the Shenandoah Valley
